EPPD arrest three Northeast El Paso men for alleged gang activity

El Paso, TX (KTSM) — El Paso Police Department have arrested three Northeast El Paso men Monday afternoon after police allege they robbed a man at gunpoint.
EPPD's Gang Investigation Unity responded to assist the Northeast Patrol after a victim reported being approached by 21-year-old Matthew Silva, who allegedly approached the victim in the 8300 block of Dyer, displayed a handgun and took the victim's wallet, cell phone and fled the area along with two other men in a Nissan Altima.
Silva, was located along with 24-year-old Andray Harris and 19-year-old Damian Arce a short distance away by Northeast Patrol Officers in the same 2012 Nissan Altima. Police initiated a traffic stop and Silva fled the vehicle on food. He was apprehended by officers after a brief foot pursuit.
Further investigation revealed that Silva, Harris and Arce were in possession of 5.4 grams of crack cocaine that was located inside of the vehicle.

Silva, Harris and Arce were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Over 4 grams and Under 200 grams.
Silva was also charged with Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest or Detention. Silva had an additional outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon stemming from a shots-fired incident that occurred on October 24, 2013 in the 4400 block of Sunrise.
