Investigators with the El Paso Sheriff's Department are looking into the discovery of a body at the rest-stop off of I-10 west near the Fabens exit.

Initial information given by EPCSO spokesperson Chris Acosta at the scene was that the body of an unidentified man was discovered in a brushy area by motorists who had stopped at the rest-area to stretch their legs.

The traveler who discovered the body called 911 around 2 a.m. after discovering the body. Sheriff's investigators say that the witnesses stayed on the scene to talk to deputies and have been fully cooperative.

Several parked cars were spotted at the rest area this morning, but investigators are unsure if the cars belonged to the man who was discovered in the desert brush.

Sheriff's investigators are unsure what led to the man's death at this time and have called the criminal investigation unit out, as is procedure with all deaths of this nature.

We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
