UPDATE: Suspect in EPCC shooting in custody

El Paso, TX (KTSM) — UPDATE:
EPCC Police confirm the suspected shooter was arrested.
The suspect is in custody of the EPCC police and is being questioned.
EPCC Police said he will eventually be handed over to El Paso Police.
El Paso Community College has alerted its students that they are investigating a shooting at the Northwest Campus located at 6701 North Desert Blvd.
A text message went out to EPPC students and staff at 2:54 p.m. stating:
Police are investigating a shooting at Northwest Campus. Subject has left the campus. Update to follow.
A spokesperson with EPCC says that no one was injured during the incident. The El Paso Community College Police Department says that one shot was fired in the West Parking Lot A of the Northwest Campus at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The incident started as an altercation between two students. One student then allegedly fired a single shot at the second student, missing them. The alleged shooter then left the campus.
The second student is still on EPCC campus being interviewed by EPCCPD. A spokesperson with EPCC believes the incident was isolated and the campus was never locked down during the incident.
Dr. Ernst Roberts, Vice President for Administration & Financial Operations, told us that guns are prohibited on the EPCC campus and the campus will pursue action once the alleged gunman is caught.
