An East Texas woman who posed as a high school sophomore is behind bars after lying about her identity.

According to Debra Stiles with the Longview Police Department, Charity Anne Johnson, 34, was arrested May 12.

Johnson had been posing as a 15-year-old sophomore at New Life Christian School in Longview since October 2013, prior to her arrest. She registered at the school under the alias "Charity Stevens."

Johnson's former principal, Stewart Newlin, who was shocked the woman pulled such a stunt.

"I don't really believe Charity is 31-years-old," said Newlin. "I am waiting for more evidence from police to prove her age. Everyone at the school is shocked because she looks like a teenager. She claims she was home-schooled so she had no school records when she came to the school in October. She was very well-liked and the whole campus is shocked and in disbelief."
