Brazen Las Cruces robbers hold restaurant at gunpoint; LCPD seek public assistance identifying them

Two Las Cruces men are being sought by Las Cruces Crime Stoppers after they pulled off a brazen armed robbery inside of a popular restaurant on Saturday night.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m., Saturday, November 2, LCPD were dispatched to an armed robbery inside a Chilitos restaurant at 2405 S. Valley Drive.

Witnesses inside the restaurant told detectives that two men, wearing black hoodies and ski masks entered the restaurant with handguns and ordered ten customers to keep their heads down and place their hands on top of the tables. The second suspect confronted restaurant employees and demanded they hand over the money from the cash register.

The two suspects then fled Chilitos heading southbound.

Both suspects were described as either white or Hispanic men with thin builds. One of the suspects was said to be approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall and the other, photographed by a surveillance camera in the store, is believed to be approximately 5-feet-11-inches tall.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that helps identify the two armed suspects who threatened customers of a popular restaurant and held up the business Saturday evening.
