As we've reported, the man suspected of swindling nearly $35,000 from a Las Cruces automobile dealership was arrested Friday morning in an El Paso Courtroom.

Johnny Ray Mills, 41, is charged with one county of fraud, a second-degree felony in after he allegedly swindled the Sisbarro Buick- GMC dealership out of $34,999 in exchange for an agreement to open a car dealership on Fort Bliss.

During our investigation into Mills' activities, we located other potential victims in the El Paso area that say Mills also scammed them out of undisclosed amounts of money in exchange for various services associated with Fort Bliss.

Fort Bliss told us that Mills has no connection with Fort Bliss and any attempt to present himself as a member of the military associated with the post was inaccurate.

Our investigation revealed that Mills was due in an El Paso courtroom on Friday, February 28th in connection with fraud charges stemming from an El Paso case. Las Cruces Police were able to contact authorities in El Paso and arrange for his arrest during the court appearance.

LCPD says they expect Mills to be extradited to New Mexico to face charges in connection with the Sisbarro Buick-GMC case, his bond has been set at $50,000.
