A Alamogordo woman was arrested and charged with embezzlement, fraud and 56-counts-of forgery Friday after an investigation by Alamogordo Police determined that she had embezzled more than $20,000 from an area nursing home.

Lucy Ramirez, 43, was arrested and charged with one count of embezzlement, one count of fraud and 56 counts of forgery after police allege that Ramirez embezzled over $20,000 from the Betty Dare Good Samaritan Center between June 2010 and May 2013.

APD allege that Ramirez not only embezzled funds, but also committed fraud and forgery during her employment at the Alamogordo area nursing facility.

Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Otero County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
