Alamogordo Police Department have arrested 32-year-old Brian Stotts, who they allege robbed the Giant Convenience Store on Hwy 54 at gunpoint on Sunday morning.

Officers from the Alamogordo Police Department responded to the Giant Convenience store at approximately 2:41 a.m. Sunday morning after a clerk at the store reported being threatened by a black man wearing jeans and a hoodie sweatshirt, which he attempted to hide his face with.

Responding officers along with detectives from Alamogrordo Police and the Otero County Sheriffs Department immediately canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspect. A man matching the description of the alleged robber was located in the 2200 block of Waller Rd. at approximately 3:07 a.m. by responding officers.

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Brian Stotts was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Kidnapping, Tampering with Evidence and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Stotts was booked into the Otero County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond.
