EL PASO— Two people were arrested early Monday morning after a burglary of a vehicle led to a small foot chase with El Paso police officers. This arrest is only the most recent in the past week after others were arrested for the same crime.

Gerardo Garcia, 20, of the 7800 block of Rodeo, and Pablo Gutierrez, 19, of the 7800 block of Santa Monica, were arrested by El Paso police officers after EPPD was called to the 1600 block of Lomaland around 1:20 a.m. on a report of burglary of vehicle. EPPD officers began investigating the burglary of a 1983 Chevrolet pickup. EPPD's Tactical officers responded to assist the other officers, and found Garcia and Gutierrez at the Lake Fairway apartments also on Lomaland. Garcia and Gutierrez fled on foot as officers approached, and were soon caught after a brief foot chase.

EPPD Tactical officers found stereo equipment that belonged to the 1983 Chevy pickup.

Garcia and Gutierrez were charged with burglary of a vehicle and booked into the El Paso County jail.

The investigation continues.
