Yara Perez case to resume in October

They waited five years, and now they'll have to wait nearly 5 months more. On Tuesday, just the second day of trial, a court declared a mistrial for the woman accused of killing her 3 year old girl.

For now  Yara Perez has averted a date in court, but the case is expected to resume on October 19.

No immediate reason is given for the mistrial.  It appears now as a pending case.

Five years ago, Perez's three year old girl died, and a detective testified Monday that the dead child was in the trunk of Perez's car.

Perez's boyfriend at the time, Francisco Casteneda, is already convicted in the case and is serving life in prison without parole.
