El Paso County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an arson and theft at a trucking business in far east El Paso County.

Around 11:45 a.m. Sunday, a deputy was called out to Perales Trucking, 261 Ellendale St. after the business owner returned to his property to find it on fire.

Deputies say the owner saw a wrought iron locked gate in the middle of the street, his business in flames, and one of his vehicles missing.

Horizon Fire Dept. firefighters extinguished the fire, which was kept to the business' office, said spokesman Dep. Mariano Valle.

Damages are estimated around $30,000.
