A news release received by Newschannel 9 states Commissioner Veronica Escobar invited County Judge Anthony Cobos to file a criminal complaint against her. Cobos filed a criminal complaint for deprivation of honest services with the appropriate authorities, alleging that Commissioner Escobar received free legal services in return for favorable votes on behalf of her attorney. In addition, Commissioner Escobar's campaign treasurer received unfair preference in his hiring as a county attorney.
