County Cutting Millions from Budget

Update -- El Paso County Commissioners court has started to trim $11.5 million of its budget. So far nearly $4 million in cuts have been made.
Three holiday will be unpaid for all county employees, including Memorial Day, Junteenth, amd Labor Day. That move will save nearly $1 million.
Commissioners are also looking at cutting $250,000 from Ascarate Park. Those cuts will affect employees.
Another major proposal being looked at will be completely outsourcing the county's car, title, and registration services. That could cut 37 jobs and save the county nearly $1 million.
Origional Story-- County Commissioners have just voted to furlough three fiscal year holidays for county employees. It's expected to save $1 million. The holidays are Memorial Day, Labor Day and Juneteenth.
The furlough passed on a vote of 3 to 2. Veronica Escobar and Anna Perez voted against it.
