The Department of Public Health is one step closer to fighting obesity in the Sun City.
They brought up a resolution to city council today urging them to consider health when making decisions, like neighborhood planning and school zoning.
Council approved a revised version of the resolution, taking out wording that would decrease the amount of unhealthy food items at restaurants. The health department says some council members were concerned they would be mandating what people could eat.

if you people would take the time to read the resolution you would see that it goes far beyond "telling" people what to eat. In fact this resolution will make healthier food accesible to everyone, more parks will be created for our kids to play at. People get mad when magazines call us the fattest city, but no one wants to do anything about it. Instead of complaining, get up and do something about your health El Paso!
City council needs to be looking at their own pea patch, and working on things that really need fixing, instead of telling the public what to eat or not to eat. looks like another harebrained idea of our city puppet master wilson, passed on to the puppet cook, passed on to the council members with no spine to stand up to them. shame, shame, cant wait till elections.
are you kidding me....nobody tells me what to eat..
