Copyright alert system goes into effect
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Media lovers, your days of free sharing online are numbered.
The Copyright Alert System went into effect Tuesday, with hopes of curbing online piracy.
Music artists, filmmakers and the like will be able to notify your internet provider if you're sharing their music, movies or television shows without their permission.
You'll then be alerted and if you don't fix the problem, your internet speed can be downgraded or online access be completely terminated.
