Convicted Serial Killer David Leonard Wood's Hearing Delayed
It may be months before we know what happens to convicted serial killer David Leonard Wood.
His mental competency hearing was supposed to wrap up today, now it won't end until December, maybe later.
Today, the defense cross-examined a forensic psychologist who says wood isn't mentally retarded.
Lawyers talked about Wood's bad grades from an early age and say the school placed him in a special learning program.
The psychologist argued that special learning programs also include students who suffer from learning disabilities, not just mental retardation.
Wood is on death row for killing six young women in Northeast El Paso back in 1987.
If his lawyers can convince the court he is retarded, that could get him off death row.
The criminal court of appeals will decide his fate when the hearing's finished.
