EL PASO - Construction on busy streets in El Paso may cause some heavy traffic for EPCC students.

Starting next week construction will begin on Yandell to Rio Grande. It will be a complete reconstruction of the road, making it more pedestrian-oriented.

Project Manager Julie Baldwin-Muñoz said there will be a temporary route for students to help with transportation and parking, as well as traffic control and signs.

Baldwin-Muñoz said a court meeting was held with EPCC and construction teams will be working with campus police. We're told this phase of the project is supposed to end in October.

The total construction is a 15-month project that began in May of this year and is scheduled to finish in August 2011.
