Construction Underway on Schuster Exit
Construction at the Schuster exit on I-10 started Monday night.
UTEP President Diana Natalicio and Mayor John Cook were at a press conference yesterday announcing the project.
The 8 million dollar initiative is designed to ease congestion at the often crowded intersection.
An extra exit lane and ramp will be added to deposit drivers directly into campus.
Mayor John Cook says times are changing, and our roads need to keep up.
Traffic delays are expected from the construction.
Natalicio urged students and faculty to arrive earlier when classes resume next week.
Construction is expected to last about 15 months.
