LAS CRUCES - Construction of the Motel Blvd. exit off I-10 is underway as of this morning. 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation project will consist of bridge replacement, a concrete wall barrier, signage, lighting and pavement replacement.

The length of the project is approximately 3.3 miles long and will impact east and westbound traffic.

Construction started at 7:00 a.m. today.

Motorists should expect detours, and are asked to slow down and drive with caution in the area.
