Congressman Pearce reacts to sequestration vote failure
EL PASO — New Mexico U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce spoke to NewsChannel 9 about the U.S. Congress' failure to agree on a bill that would avoid sequestration cuts.
"I am fully agreeing that Washington should live within its means, I just thought the process was very flawed from the start," he said.
That's why Pearce says he voted against his peers in the Republican party on the sequester more than a year ago.
But now the focus has to be on the present.
"Just get us together to make responsible choices. So let's let the government work more effectively and efficiently," he said.
