El Paso Congressman Beto O'Rourke was very clear he wanted to meet with El Pasoans before making his final decision, so he did that last week. Monday, after classified briefings O'Rourke made his decision. He said after speaking to thousands of El Pasoans, getting their feedback and listening to testimony from top ranking officials, looking through a classified report, he will vote "no" to military strikes in Syria.

"I just don't think it is within our country's and our community’s interest to go to war with Syria and I don't know if it would help the people in Syria who we purport to want to help amidst this civil war" he said.

O'Rourke said the senate is expected to vote this week and the house will likely not vote until next week.
O'Rourke does have a regularly scheduled town hall meeting September 21 at Chapin High School where he said he will discuss his decision. A time hasn't been set.

Yeah I give the congressman credit for meeting with some of the people, unfortunately I did not know about it until afterwads when I saw it on the news. Even though he said he was thinking about how he was going to vote. It was clear to me that he was on the nay side all along. He kept saying that he thought there there were other options but he did not offer any. Thanks to our President & the State Department it looks like Seria's dictator is going to turn over his chemical weopons (I hope).
