Conference to enhance binational health efforts
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — When an epidemic of disease unfolds in our region, it becomes a binational issue.
Tuesday, federal, state, and local leaders from both sides of the border convened to make sure they are prepared should any disease begin impacting the border region.
That will be done through enhancing how organizatoins share information, and studying how migration affects the health in our communities.
"We are here together to try to find solutions, in particularly to help health care professionals, to help the individuals have easy access to care and easy access to solutions so that the diseases that we are having across the border are minimized over time," said
Cristina Rabadan-Diehl, the Americas Officer Director, Global Affairs Dept. of Health and Human Services Dept.
The conference goes through Thursday at the downtown convention center.
