A little competition inspired some holiday spirit in El Pasoans.
Four different organizations designed and built canned food sculptures that were all displayed at the insights museum.
The structures came down and the cans were donated to the first lady's program to feed the homeless here in El Paso this holiday season.
"Over the past two years we've seen an increase in the number of needy families that are coming. A whole family will show up dressed in their Sunday clothes and come and have a Thanksgiving dinner," Mayor John Cook said.
About 4,000 cans were donated and more than 7,000 people are expected at the Mayor's Thanksgiving Dinner this year.
