It's a celebration for a good cause tonight in Las Cruces.

Drew Motorplex Foundation is hosting a street festival to raise funds for the construction of a new motorplex.

Motorplex organizers say the festival is in honor of Drew Jaramillo who died in March after crashing his motorcycle into a friend's truck.

Police alleged he was performing stunts and sped off when an officer saw him.

Organizers say they want to make Jaramillo's dream come true, which was to build a motorplex.

The non-profit organization is working to collect money to purchase 10 acres of land on the outskirts of town to build a drag strip for races, a black top for stunts and a dirt track for dirt bikes.

The fundraiser is being held tonight on the corner of Kansas Avenue and Solano Drive.

The event goes on until midnight. There will be music, food and merchandise for sale.
