Commissioner's Court Takes Up Redistricting
EL PASO - If you plan on voting in the next election, you'll want to know about changes in the voter maps, polling locations and voting dates.
Every 10 years, Texas can redistrict the voting precincts based on population growth.
El Paso County commissioners voted today to keep the redistricting item on all of its weekly meetings leading up to the 2012 vote.
"If you vote and are civically engaged, you want to know what's going to happen because it will impact you for the next decade of your voting life,” said County Judge Veronica Escobar.
County commissioners are planning a mailing campaign to instruct voters about precinct changes and voter locations once the voter map is set.
