El Paso — After postponing action for a week, El Paso County Commisioners on Monday will discuss and possibly act on a measure to spend more than 187-thousand dollars for necessary changes to the Tornillo-Guadelupe border fence.
That fence at the port of entry now under construction reportedly needs changes in elevation which commissioners call "unforseen"
Last week Newschannel 9 asked County Judge Veronica Escobar why the county would be obligated to spend any money toward construction or changes to a federal project such as the Tornillo-Guadeluoe port. At that time she responded "I don't know the answer to that question." And asked how the county would pay for such improvements, she described "wiggle room" within the county's recently approved 2013 fiscal budget
