JAPAN - People in the city of Iwaki spent the day cleaning up debris left behind by Friday's devastating tsunami.

Japan's biggest earthquake ever recorded triggered a 23-foot tsunami.

Teams are searching hundreds of miles along Japan's northeast coast for missing people.

Thousands of people are waiting in emergency shelters cut off from rescuers and aid.

Large areas of the countryside are surrounded by water and cannot be reached.

At least one-million people have been without clean drinking water since the earthquake.

The government says 642 people are missing, but there are grim signs the death toll could soar.
