Clardy Elementary students moved to Henderson Middle School due to water main break

UPDATE: EPISD Officials tell parents that all students will be bussed back to Clardy Elementary at the end of the school day. Parents should pick up their children as usual at the Clardy campus.

UPDATE: An El Paso Water Utillities representative said the water main break happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Delta and Feliz.  It affected service to seven customers, including Clardy Elementary. 

Repairs are expected to be complete by noon Monday.  Delta and Feliz is expected to remain closed until those repairs are done.

UPDATE: El Paso Independent School District Spokesperson Reneé de Santos said students can be dropped off at Clardy Elementary, and will be walked our bussed to Henderson Middle School.  At the end of the school day, students will be walked or bussed back to Clardy to be picked up by their parents. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

Students from Clardy Elementary will be attending classes at Henderson Middle School Monday due to an early morning water main break.

According to El Paso Fire Department dispatchers, the water main break happened about 4 a.m. Monday.  El Paso Water Utilities crews responded to repair the line.

El Paso Independent School District Spokesperson Reneé de Santos said the water main break is affecting water service to Clardy Elementary, which is why the decision was made to move students to Henderson.

El Paso Water Utilities representatives did not immediately return phone calls regarding the number of customers affected.
