City trash bin audit underway
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The City Environmental Services Department (ESD) is currently performing a field verification audit of its gray trash bins to ensure the inventory of trash bins matches the billing information.
The cost for an extra gray trash bin, which appears as part of the solid waste bill, is $16 plus tax per month per bin.
Customers are only allowed to have one blue recycling bin.
Residents found to have extra bins that are not paid for will be contacted by mail to see if they would like to keep the additional bin, which increases the monthly bill, or return it, which will include a $25 service fee.
Customers who would like to report extra bins not accounted for on their bills can call 311 to have it picked up for a $25 service fee.
Residents can also drop off extra bins free of charge at the City warehouse at 4200 Delta.
They must present a water bill at the time the extra container is dropped off.
The facility is open Tuesday from 8 a. to 10 am and Thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm.
