City to Begin Recycling Christmas Trees Tomorrow

EL PASO - Starting tomorrow, the city will being accepting Christmas trees to recycle.

El Pasoans can dispose of their cut Christmas trees by taking them to any of the department’s Citizen Collection Stations (CCS). The service is free and lasts until Jan. 21. The drop-off sites are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and are located at:

·         2492 Harrison
·         1034 Pendale
·         4501 Hondo Pass
·         4200 Delta

Mulch and wood chips will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to the public starting on Jan. 10th at the Atlantic, Hondo Pass and Pendale locations. Citizens are encouraged to take the free mulch home to use in their gardens to help enrich the soil and control weeds.
