Quintana Says Her Decision Has Nothing to do With Her Forgery Case
EL PASO - City Representative Rachel Quintana announced today that she will not seek re-election in May.
She released the following statement:
“It has been an honor to serve my community. I would like to convey my appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity. I have given this decision paramount consideration and it is in the best interest of my family and community for me not to seek a second term. Whether in office or not, I will continue to work for positive change.”
Quintana said her decision has nothing to do with the forgery case against her.
You remember Quintana is accused of forging a letter confirrming her employment at Federal Express in order to get a discounted airline ticket.
Quintana would not talk to us about her forgery case.
This week, a jury trial on the forgery case was set for May 9.
The election will be held May 14.
