City releases personal emails of council members
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — Almost 200 pages of emails from the personal accounts of current and former El Paso city council members were released today. The emails were posted on the city's website after a long fight over whether or not they should be released.
The city sued Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott after he ordered their release in response to a Texas Public Information Act request. Opponents of a new Triple A baseball stadium had alleged that backdoor dealings were taking place between council members via personal email.
