EL PASO - City Council voted 6-2 Tuesday in favor of taking over commercial waste responsibilities Sept. 1, 2011.  A proposed deal with Waste Connections would've paid the city $2.5 million every year.  Instead, the city will invest $18.5 million dollars to reopen the McCombs Landfill and expand the Clint Landfill.

Whats wrong with this picture? Why not just take the $2.5 million a year. Why spend $ 18.5 million and make no profit. If it was going to make a profit there is no reason why to rise a dollar in our water bill. It just another way for the city to make millions out of our pockets not from waste.
