The city of El Paso saved a lot of money in the relocation of City Hall by going green. The central transportation systems helped city departments relocate by using purple crates and gondolas. 1500 plastic reusable crates were used to move more than 500 employees out of city hall. All of the crates were rotated through various departments and were reused about three times. This saved the use of about 9,000cardboard boxes that would have either been thrown away or recycled.
