EL PASO - City leaders have voted to put an end to voting in polling places that are not public.
El Paso Council members fear groups such as churches have too much influence on elections when voting takes place on their property.
The council voted earlier this month to move all mobile voting sites to public places for the May city election. Early voting and permanent sites won't be moved until November.
Religious leaders say they will continue to fight for mobile voting at churches and businesses.
