EL PASO — El Paso city council members, including former members, were asked to release work and personal emails that detailed city business that have been withheld since last fall. The emails in question revolve around the downtown ballpark.
The current city council requested all former city council members to release the emails, but there is no guarantee the open records request will be fulfilled.
"We can only ask and we're moving forward with transparency so we can only ask and hope that everybody releases anything that pertains to city business," El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser said.
There are apparently nearly 200 undisclosed pages.
