Wednesday morning, thousands of El Pasoans lined up at city clinics to get a free swine flu shot from the Department of Public Health.

By the end of the day, the city estimated it had given out 10,000 vaccinations, almost depleting its supply of 13,000 doses.

By early afternoon, a clinic on El Paso's Westside was already turning people away after running out of the vaccine.

The city says it will distribute the remaining 3,000 vaccinations beginning on Thursday morning.

The city initially ordered 26,000 doses of vaccine, but only received 13,000.

They city says it's hard to tell when the rest of the doses will be sent.
