Shawver Park, located at 652 Riverside Dr., in El Paso's Lower Valley got a special Holiday gift today, as City Representatives voted to approve a $25,000 project to install holiday lights at the Lower Valley Park.

"The Grinch didn't prevail this year" City Rep. Eddie Holguin said.

About 100 kids were at council Tuesday morning asking the city to invest in Shawver Park this Christmas. Every weekend, there will be caroling and hot chocolate with donation boxes set up around the park, that the city hopes will offset some of the costs.

The green light to put up holiday lights at Shawver Park was approved by city council with Representative Ann Morgan Lily voting no to the allocation.

Such a hypocritical TURD Holguin is. Votes NEIN, NEIN, NEIN to everything that will help El Paso grow, yet has the cajones to ask for the others on council to chip in on his own pet projects!
