The fate of Cirilo "Chilo" Madrid is now in the hands of jury.

Madrid is the former CEO of Aliviane, a non-profit substance abuse counseling agency.
He allegedly defrauded a government program that helps mentally ill children out of more than a half of a million dollars.

Thursday afternoon, the jury of six men and six women heard closing arguments in the case.

Madrid allegedly conspired to secure a contract from the federally funded Border Children's Mental Health Collaborative in 2005 and 2006.

The alleged conspiracy included bribes to former El Paso County Judge Dolores Briones and involved several people.

The judge just sent the jury home for the day. They'll return Friday morning.

For Madrid & his lawyer to state that he worked heroically to help mentally ill children makes me want to scream! The thief only glorifies himself. Throw the offender in prison and throw away the key to his cell. Why has Soria not been charged & why is Briones being treated with soft kiddy gloves? Lock her up along with all the other corrupt politicians & their co-conspirators.
