It may be something that you take for granted. The ability to jump into a cool pool on a hot summer day, splash around and have fun with your friends.  For about 80 children at El Paso's Center Against Family Violence, swimming has come with a set of challenges this year.

The children and teens living at the Center Against Family Violence are in desperate need of swimsuits. The staff at CAFV tried to take the kids swimming at a city pool in shorts and t-shirts recently, but they were turned away because the city requires swimsuits at all public pools.

CAFV is now asking for help from the generous El Paso community. They need about 80 swimsuits for girls and boys ages toddler to teen. Donating suits that will fit the teens is especially encouraged, since many people tend to donate for small children.

If you are interested in helping out the children at the CAFV, you can drop off a new or gently worn swimsuit at the NewsChannel 9 studios, 801 N. Oregon or at the Center For Family Violence Resource Center located at 580 Giles Rd.

At the Leo Cancellare they enforce that rule, however, they tend to not enforce all their rules so that got me on their case. I made a big deal because they were selectively enforcing some of the rules and not all of them. When I had to get out because I was wearing a gray shirt I brought up things I had noticed like a life guard fallening asleep while supposedly watching the swimmers, not enforcing direct adult supervision on kids under 6 years, and a whole lot of other things.
