Child Crisis Center of El Paso opens new thrift store
Friday, February 8, 2013 - 5:58pm

The Child Crisis Center of El Paso has opened the doors to its second thrift store. The thrift store is located at 220 S. Oregon in Downtown El Paso.

The second store will complement the Center's original thrift store, the Discovery Shop, located at 4747 Hondo Pass in Northeast El Paso and will primarily sell gently used clothing, accessories and children's ware.

Last year, the Discovery Shop earned nearly $300,000 in sales and since its inception more than 20 years ago, has raised over $4 million to help pay for the extreme costs of providing residential care for children who have been abused and neglected or are in crisis.

The opening of the store today is considered a soft opening in that the store is open for business. However, a Grand Opening is scheduled for March 3rd and the local community, City and County Leaders and business professionals will be invited to share our celebration.
