The El Paso Chihuahuas continue to unveil tiny glimpses into what will become the completed new stadium in Downtown El Paso. Thursday, Chihuahuas General Manager, Brad Taylor and the project manager for the City of El Paso, Alan Schubert revealed the what the new seats will look like.

The seats being installed are the same ones which have been installed in three of the last four Major League ballparks built around the country. Now that the type of seat has been determined, contractors are making final tweaks to determine the total number which will fit in the ballpark -- somewhere between 7,500 and 8,000 total seats.

“The seats being installed are the same ones which have been installed in three of the last four Major League ballparks built around the country,” said Brad Taylor, General Manager of the El Paso Chihuahuas. “We will have comfortable chair-back seats in all parts of the ballpark – suites, club level, and concourse level.”

El Pasoans will have their choice from among more than 7,500 seats when El Paso’s new downtown ballpark opens in Spring 2014. And for the very first time, the terraced seating area of the concourse level is beginning to take shape along the third-base line.

“Construction crews have been busy installing the steel structures which will support the concourse level seating,” said Alan Shubert, P.E., project manager for the City of El Paso.
