City Plan Commission members will consider moving an El Paso staple out to make way for a Walmart store.

The Chico's Tacos restaurant on Montana Ave. and Chelsea St. may be forced out.
Commission members are considering rezoning four parcels along Montana Ave. near Chelsea St. to allow a Walmart Neighborhood Market to go up.

The drawing to the right shows what the Superstore would look like at that intersection.

Those properties include Chico's and the Montana Animal Clinic.
The Planning Division and El Paso Fire Dept. are recommending the commission deny the application.

Commission members will make a decision at Thursday's meeting, set for 1:30 p.m. At the Main Library auditorium, 501 N. Oregon St.
