CHAPARRAL, NM — Deputies arrest a Chaparral father for firing a gun during an argument with his son.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff's office went to Byrum and Paseo Real in Chaparral Saturday night.

The sheriff's office says Dennis Hidinger and his son got into a physical fight and Hidinger fired a hand gun. The son was not hurt.

Hidinger is being charged with negligent use of a firearm and battery.
