CDC back to work tracking flu
Workers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are back on the job, tracking the flu. Now that the government shutdown is over, furloughed federal employees are returning to work, including those at the CDC.
Every Friday the CDC is supposed to post how many cases of flu have been reported across the U.S. but that service was temporarily suspended during the shutdown.
Now the CDC says on its website it will post a short summary of the most recent flu data on its website today (Friday) and routine flu reports will resume next Friday.
