Teacher Accused of Vulgar Rant

EL PASO---An El Paso High School teacher won't be back in the classroom anytime soon, after a student reportedly recorded him cursing out their class.

The El Dorado High School student, who recorded the teacher's rant with her cell phone Thursday, turned it over to campus security.

The male teacher screamed at students, saying they were "Constantly whining. Constantly -expletive- about your -expletive- -expletive- situation. If you don't like it, get the -expletive- out!"

NewsChannel 9 spoke with Brenda Vidana, whose daughter attends school at El Dorado. After playing the recording for her, Vidana was wide-eyed.

"If my daughter was in this grade immediately I'm going to talk with the principal because it's not a right way to say something for the students," said Vidana.

The recording continues, showing the teacher's frustration.

"You're not going to come in here and think that you're going to run my classroom. This is my classroom! and I'll run it the way i want to run it."

Even Lluvia, Vidana's daughter and a sophomore at El Dorado, said she felt threatened by the voice she heard when we played the recording.

"I would probably feel scared too of the teacher and I wouldn't want to go back to that class," she said.

SISD spokeswoman Vicki Icard says the recording was enough to take the teacher, who's been with the district for three years. out of the classroom.
They are not releasing his name, citing personnel matters.
He's now on paid administrative leave.

"What I heard on the recording would certainly be deemed misappropriate behavior. And so that alone will be investigated, if he actually is the individual on the tape."

Three different groups are investigating; including school district police, human resources, and Child Protective Services.
