Carreon Found Guilty of Murder, Jury to Determine Sentence

After two hours of deliberation, a jury of eight women and six men found Lorenzo Carreon guilty of brutally beating to death and then trying to burn the body of 55-year old Frank Edward Jeffrey.

The jury was given the case at about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. They took a lunch break and then resumed looking at evidence., including pictures and possible weapons used.

They requested the hour-long interrogation tape in which Carreon confesses to killing Jeffrey. 

Tuesday morning the jury heard closing arguments from both the prosecution and the defense.

The judge and jury will continue to hear testimony on Wednesday to determine Carreon's sentence.
He faces up to life in prison.
