El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Just more than 100 Central American immigrants have been treated in local hospitals.
Sierra Providence Health Network hospitals have treated 50 immigrants brought in by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"Sierra Providence Health Network is prepared to provide care when needed," said hospital reps.
The El Paso Children's Hospital treated 60 patients, which has cost them $70,000.
EPCH spokesperson Susie Byrd says the hospital will be seeking federal reimbursement.
Border patrol leaders tell us each of the patients were screened in south Texas before being transported to El Paso.
