EL PASO - Family and friends held a candlelight vigil Sunday night for three children and their grandparents who died in a house fire a year ago in Northeast El Paso.
Dozens shared stories of 10-year-old Eboney Jones, 9-year-old Deman Jones and their brother, 14-year-old Isaiah Matos. The three children and their grandparents passed away after an accidental house fire last year.
Mikey Myer, who attended the vigil, misses his friend Isaiah and remembers all the fun they used to have together.
"I miss him more than anything, I would do anything to have him back but I can't," Myer said. "I know he'll always be here with me."
Myer and his mother are working on publishing a book detailing the adventures the two best friends used to have together.
Luis Matos, the father of the children, said it was the little things he misses the most.
"Watching them wake up, watching them sleep, just their laugh the smiles that they brought to all of us," Matos said as he fondly remembered his children.
Matos plans on rebuilding the house and moving in as soon as April.
