Businesses Along The Border Feel Unsafe

The U.S. Border Fence is nearing completion in the El Paso area. Some business owners along the border say the government has left their businesses exposed.
Dorine Baca-Brown says she's only hop, skip and "literally" a jump to freedom for Mexican immigrants who cross illegally into the United States.
"You know this is a freeway now! You know they jump through here," Dorine said.
Dorine believes immigrants are cutting through her property because the border fence--we've heard so much about--stops just short of her business. Currently there's a gap about a mile and a half wide
Border Patrol says those gaps are because of logistics. They have to ensure the integrity of the flood plains and in some of those areas they couldn't do a whole lot of digging or any digging for that matter.
"We know that traditionally, historically that has been an area of high traffic so it is one of those point of focus for us to begin with, " Joe Romero, Border Patrol spokesperson said.
Border Patrol says they're still trying to come up with a design for the border fence that will work in the flood plain area behind Dorine's business.
